Abstract (EN)

Aluminium alloys, with the advantages of good corrosion and fatigue resistance, high strength to weight ratio and ease of fabrication, are increasing their popularity in automotive, marine and aircraft industries. Thus, the weldability and machinability studies are becoming increasingly important. In this study, in the milling of Al 5083-H36 aluminium alloy with cemented carbide end mill , surface roughness and burring quality characteristics are investigated via Taguchi method. Consequently, The results of the experiments which are, conducted based on L16 ortogonal array in the different levels of cutting speed, feed rate, axial/radial dept of cut, tool nose radius, are assessed though analyses of variance and signal to noise ratio. As a result, for the cooling with vortex tube and classical method, effects of the factors on the surface roughness and burring are determined, and optimization of the system is achieved successfully
