Abstract (EN)

Aluminium bronze is commonly used especially in ship industry because of their high mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance. It is possible to obtain better mechanical properties by modifying chemical composition and cooling rates. The chemical composition of aluminium bronze which was used in this study contains 86,51 % copper, 10,06 % aluminium and 3,11 % iron. Due to casting of this alloy in a sand moulds which were prepared using coolers, eight different solidification time were obtained. The cast block samples which had different solidification time, were examined as microstructure, hardness, tension and V-notch impact values. In this research, it is found that when the solidification rates of alloy increase, tension strength and V-notch impact values increase but hardness values of alloys decrease.
