Abstract (EN)
This thesis, comprises of a study of the directional solidification ofcommericially pure (99,3 wt. %) aluminium in one directional heatflow. For directional solidification, stable mould-active furnacesystem was setted. Various furnace velocities (0,0218mm/s.,0,0184mm/s., 0,0123mm/s. and 0,00816mm/s.) has been applied todirectional solidification. Temperature gradients, solid-liquidınterface velocities, , macro/micro structures and unit cell numbershave been determined with respect to different furnace velocities. The minimum interface velocity (0,0111mm/s.) was obtained at0,00816mm/sec furnace velocity, and maximum temperature gradient(29,230C/cm) at 0,0123mm/sec furnace velocity. Interface velocityand unit cell numbers increased with increasing furnace velocity. However, temperature gradients decreased as increasing interfacevelocity. Grains and cells were directed in all obtained castings.
