In this study, the precision of the rope fathometer and GPS systems being used for hydrographic measurements of port constructions were examined; for example, there have been studies conducted on Amasra Port and as a result of these studies hydrographic map of the Amasra Port have been generated.For this purpose, the precision of rope fathometer and GPS systems have been investigated; information was given about the terms to be given considered to obtain the most accurate results. The methods were explained for depth measurement, also other fathometer methods and rope fathometer methods were compared. Likewise, coordinate determination methods were explained; coordinate addressing methods and GPS were compared with conducted measurements.As a result, application methods and other present methods were compared to obtain a more accurate result. Hydrographic map of the Amasra Port was generated by using Rope fathometer and GPS and information about the inside and outside depth of the port was given by use of contour curves.
