Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Key words = Social improvement, town, rand industry, central village, village. The subject of this research was "The comparison of Ezinepazar and Uygur towns in Amasya in terms of their social improvement". The history of the both town goes back to the Selçuklu Empire, and Ezinepazar has a historical Inn (Ezinepazar Han) from that era. Ezinepazar has been a siinni town and was an old sub-district Ezinepazar was a center of administration, security and lodging before the Turkish republic was established. Since then its development has decreased gradually while Uygur which is an alevi town has developed continuously. Both of them have become into a town since 1989. Uygur had its first preliminary (first) school and middle school earlier than Ezinepazar and therefore more people was trained for bureaucracy in Uygur. Changes in family also began earlier in Uygur, and communication and relations with other people, cities or towns have been better. Believing and having written amulets, going to local doctors are more common in Ezinepazar while vaccination, daily use of tooth-brush and membership to social security associations are more common in Uygur. Production of vegetables, fruits and animals, and reaching to big markets are more developed in Uygur. In addition, mechanization in agriculture is higher, and houses are being rented. The use of deep freezer, automatic washing machine, cellular phone and other modern tools in higher numbers also show developmental differences of Uygur. Work variations in both towns are close to each other. Factories have been established more in Ezine because of its location. There is no sect fanaticism and ethnocentric feelings in both towns. There are close relations between the developmental trend of the towns and political powers. Uygur was developed more during left wing parties were in power, especially CHP, while Ezinepazar was developed more during right wing parties were in power, especially ANAP. The basic reason for Uygur being more developed is the beginning to education and cultural activities earlier.
