Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to evaluate the knowledge status of cardiovascular disease risk factors and health anxiety of healthcare personnel working in the operating room and intensive care. The research was conducted on health workers who have worked/ continued to work in the Operating Room or Intensive care unit for at least 1 year at a Training and Research Hospital in Ankara. December July-Dec 2022 data was collected. The sample of our research consisted of 195 people. For the research, a data sheet containing socio-demographic characteristics was collected using the Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors Knowledge Level Scale (KARRIF-BD) and the Health Anxiety scale (SAE). T-test, Mann Whitney U test, ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis tests were used as statistical analysis of the data, and Pearson and Spearman correlation tests were used to evaluate the relationships between the variables. According to the results of the research; the average total score of the participants on the KARRIF-BD scale was found to be 23.15±2.56 and the average SAE score was 18.55±8.52. According to these score averages, it was determined that the participants had a significant level of knowledge of cardiovascular disease risk factors and had a moderate level of health anxiety. It was determined that there were positive decently significant (p<0.05) relationships between the participants' ages and the KARRIF-BD Scale score (r=0.164) and negative decently significant (p<0.05) Health Anxiety Scale score (r=-0.161). Compared to men, women found that those with more income than expenses, those with less income, the total SAE scores were higher and more significant than those who exercise. Within the framework of this information, it was considered necessary to determine the risk factors of cardiovascular and health anxiety in medical personnel, conduct screenings for risk factors, and develop healthy lifestyle behaviors in terms of cardiovascular diseases. Practices aimed at reducing social inequalities should be brought to the fore.
