Examining the impact of the United States Environmental security policies on combating the climate crisis

The conjuncture that emerged in the light of state-oriented and military power-based policies during the Cold War period, the economic connections between states after the war, and advances in communication and technology revealed that addressing security only from a military perspective would not be sufficient to solve the differentiating problems of the period. The intense use of fossil fuels such as coal and oil after the Industrial Revolution led to an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, causing global warming and climate change. The dimensions of environmental degradation affecting the global arena and the potential to cause conflicts have given rise to the idea of ecological security, leading to various some initiatives. "The United States, one of the leading countries in terms of greenhouse gas production and historical responsibility, has influenced other countries with the attitude it has followed during the global negotiations, causing the efforts to combat the climate crisis to slow down or become ineffective. Therefore, the participation of the United States of America in the efforts to fight climate change is considered essential for the success of the practices to be implemented. In this study, the role of the United States of America in combating the struggle crisis after 1990 and the impact of the policies followed by the presidents on the success of global negotiations were examined.
