The Relations between the United States of America and the People's

This thesis analyzes and evaluates the development of relations between the United States of America (USA) and the People's Republic of China (PRC) within the framework of the concept of foreign policy. Within this framework, the thesis examines the political, economic, and security relations between the two states during and after the Cold War period, identifies the positive and negative developments in these relations, evaluates the bilateral relations in the new process that began after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and finally examines these relations in the context of both USA and PRC foreign policy. In the thesis, a scientific analysis of the relations between the two states has been made in the context of the main foreign policy priorities and problems of both the USA and the PRC. In this context, although the relations between the two states initially developed within the framework of rivalry due to the PRC's one-sided policy, they entered a period of rapprochement by softening in the 1970s and turned from rapprochement to cooperation in the 1980s, especially with positive developments such as the realization of economic reforms in the PRC. However, the Tiananmen protests in the PRC led to a deterioration in bilateral relations and a period of uncertainty in the 1990s. In the 2000s, bilateral relations were revived with positive developments and became more competitive with trade wars in the 2010s. This can be attributed to both the PRC's economic policies and the USA policy toward the Asia-Pacific region and the PRC in particular. For example, the impact of the PRC's economic policy has led it to become the second largest economic power in the world, rivaling the USA. The USA policy toward the Asia-Pacific region and the PRC in particular has been constructed and implemented in accordance with its interests and goals.
