Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, both the size and development of the relations between the United States and Iraq in the period 2003-2021 were examined. The main purpose of this thesis is to evaluate bilateral relations, especially in terms of both the competition and the interests of the United States in the Middle East; evaluating and determining the causes and political and legal basis of the 2003 Iraq-United States War, examining the political, economic and military relations between the two states during the occupation period that started immediately after the war, determining the positive and negative developments in these relations, and finally, the withdrawal of United States soldiers on December 15, 2011. The subject of this thesis is the evaluation of bilateral relations in the new process in the post-occupation period, which started with the withdrawal of the last United States flag from the base. Although it is argued in the thesis that bilateral relations are based on the principle of sovereign equality, it has been concluded that these relations are carried out within a broad framework covering all dimensions in order to protect the interests of the United States in terms of the nature of these relations.
