Özet (EN)
At the end of W.W. 2, the prevailing Allies wanted to modify the Montreux Convention according to their latest interests. However, the extreme importance of the Turkish Straits for the security of both the Mediterranean and the Black Sea brought the Allies to a conflict. The Russian demands on the Straits and the Turkish ? Soviet Union border on 1945 and 1946 have been rejected by the Americans, British and the Turkish. Turkey and U.S. grew closer to each other during these years after the war. Turkey became an associate member of N.A.T.O. with Greece in October 1950. And both countries became full members as of 25th of February 1952.This paper will approach the years between 1950 and 1952 mainly using the newspaper articles that came out in the U.S. during those years. In the last section, the revisionist approaches to the after war years will be examined.
