Abstract (EN)

Coumarins are members of the class of heterocyclic compounds bearing benzopyran-2-one moiety and exhibit a variety of pharmacological properties depending on their substitutions. Among their varied pharmacological properties are the anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, anticoagulant, antioxidant and carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) inhibitory activities can be found. Due to their excellent optical properties, coumarin derivatives have also been used in a variety of applications such as optical brightness, optical sensors, organic light emitting diodes, laser dyes, fluorescent labels and probes in biology and medicine. Despite significant progress in drug chemistry, the number of research on synthesizing the most efficient and active structures has been increasing, due to the rapid development of resistance to the existing drugs. Within the framework of the search for a solution to these problems, it is aimed to synthesize biologically important active molecules which are similar to the biological systems from the reaction of various amino acids or dipeptides with biologically active coumarin derivatives and explore some of their chemical and radical scavenging properties. With the hope to obtain biologically active new coumarin derivatives, this thesis was planned on the synthesis of amino acid / dipeptide-coumarin conjugates by using the benzotriazole methodology.
