Abstract (EN)

In this study, stone finds obtained from the excavations of the Enclosure, located in the ancient city of Amorium, between 1996-2008 were examined. Amorium is an ancient city in that Hittite, Phrygian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman have had continues settlement since the year B.C. 2000. The city consists of two parts which are Upper City and Lower City. Scientific studies in Amorium were first started with surface analysis by Prof. Dr. R. Martin Harrison in 1987 and continued by excavation works between 1988-1992. The studies have been continued as "Project of the Amorium Excavations" conducted by Chris S. Lightfoot between 1993-2009. The excavation works in the city has been continuing under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Zeliha Demirel Gökalp on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Anadolu University with the Council of Ministers' Decision since 2014. The subject of the study is composed of 76 pieces of stone finds consisting 8 column bases, 11 columns, 2 attached columns, 10 column capital, a group of cornice block, 1 lintel block, 1 jamb, 1 windows mullion, 2 doorstep, 1 templon/ciborium colonette capital, 1 ambo side slab fragment, 32 slab fragments, 5 winemaking elements. The finds have been classified according to their classes and evaluated considering their materialtechnic, find-context, decoration, and style properties.
