Place and importance of ampersand symbol in graphic desing and it's usage areas

The subject of this thesis is to determine the place, importance and usage areas of ampersand symbol in graphic design. The study consists of four chapters. The first part is an introduction. In this section, the problem revealed in the study has been determined, the purpose of the study has been stated, the methodology of the research has been revealed and the plans of the units have been made. In the second part, general information about design and graphic design is mentioned. In this section, the history of the design, the design process, the branches of design, the principles of design and the historical development of graphic design are emphasized. In the third section, general information about ampersand sign is given, historical development, usage areas and designs of this sign are mentioned. Finally, information is given about the "The National Ampersand Day", which is celebrated on September 8 each year. In the fourth section, the results of the study and its' contribution to the literature are mentioned; emphasis is placed on future workspaces and suggestions are presented.
