The comparison of personality characteristics and decision styles of ampute football and wheelchair basketball players

In this study, it is aimed to study the personality characters and decision making styles of athletes who are intereseted in amputee basketball in Şanlıurfa, Malatya, Gaziantep according to some factors (reasons of disability, age of disability, person's being talkative,moody, being sad, being timid, careful decision making, delayed decision making panic decision making). With this goal, 40 amputee footballers, 40 wheelchair basketballers and 30 sedentary not doing sports (110) are reached over. In the 2018-2019 season, the survey was applied to the average number of 80 male athletes and 30 physically disabled sedentary male individuals who correspondens to the 70% of the total number of these athletes who played in 5 amputee football and 7 wheelchair basketball teams( super league, 1st league, 2nd league and regional league) in the provinces of Şanlıurfa , Malatya and Gaziantep. Melborne Decision-Making and Five-Factor Personality Scale, which was validated for its reliability and safety, was applied to the individuals. The data obtained were evaluated in SPSS program..Shapiro - Wilk and Kolmogorow-Smirnov normality tests were used for the distribution of normality of data within the scope of statistical analyzes, while differences between independent groups were analyzed by one way ANOVA (LSD, Bonferroni, Post Hoc Tests) and independent samples t-test (Independent Samples). T-Test). As a result, there was no meaningful differences found in personality characteristics and decision making styles of amputee football, wheelchair basketball disabled individuals according to various demographic variables and sporting status and league level of the related sports branch.
