The intermediary role of outomatic thoughts in the parentalattitudes' predicting success targetorientations

The aim of this study is to investigate the mediating role of automatic thoughts in the relationship between perceived parental attitudes ve achievement orientations. The variables of the study are perceived parental attitudes (independent variables), success orientations (dependent variable) ve automatic thoughts (mediator variable). The relationships between these variables were examined by multiple mediation analyses. The research was carried out with 466 students, 216 girls ve 250 boys, who were selected by means of convenience sampling from the Grade 12th in a province in the Central Anatolia Region in the 2017-2018 academic year. The data collection tools of the study were Personal Information Form, Leuven Perceived Parenting Scale, Automatic Thoughts Scale ve 2X2 Success Directions Scale. In this study, the mediating role of automatic thoughts in the relationship between perceived parental attitudes ve success orientations was evaluated by using a Structural Equation Model. In the analysis, AMOS 21.00 ve SPSS 22.00 programs were used. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that Confusion ve Escape thoughts was the partial mediator in explaining the relationship between the father's behavioral control ve learning avoidance success orientation.
