Özet (EN)

The aim of the current research is to examine the relationship between parental psychological control and temperament with response to stress. The research group of the study consists of a total of 317 (181 female, 136 male) students aged between 11 and 15 who attend secondary schools in the provinces of Turkey/Diyarbakır and Nevşehir. In this study, relational scanning model was used. Measurement tools used in the research; Psychological Control Scale, Behavioral Inhibition System/Behavioral Activation System Scale and Stress Coping Styles Scale. The analyzes of the research were made through SPSS and LISREL. Research findings; showed that there is a positive and negative relationship between the parental psychological control and the response to stress. Accordingly, the parental psychological control positively predicted the helpless approach; On the other hand, psychological control perceived from the father negatively predicted self-confident and optimistic approaches. It was observed that there was a negative significant relationship between temperament and response to stress, and temperament was a significant predictor. Finally, the findings of the research were discussed and suggestions were made considering the literature.
