Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted at the experimental area of Field Crops Department, Agricultural Faculty of Çukurova University as a main crop in 2004. The aim of this study was to determine yield and some plant characteristics of peanut under the main crop condition. Osmaniye-2005 peanut (Virginia market type and semi-spreading growth type) was used as a matarail. Eight different intra-row spacing (5, 8, 10, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 30 cm) were applied with a fixed 0,7 m inter-row spacing. It was determined that the pod yield of per plant was increased when the intra row spacing was increased, but the pod yield of per hectare was not increased at the same level. The highest pod yield (6660 kg/ha) was obtained when the row distance was 70 x 15 cm. The 100 pod weight was increased when the plant density was decreased. While the 100 pod weight was 292.7 g in 70 x 5 cm row distance, it was 353.0 g in 70x30 cm row distance. Pod number per plant was 10.3 in 70 x 5 cm, it was 31.7 in 70 x 15 cm and 49.8 in 70x30 cm row distance. While the pod yield of per plant was 22.6 g in 70x5 cm, it was 119.7 g in 70x30 cm row distance.
