THE EVALUATION OF THE STUDENTS SUCCESS IN THEIR PIANO LECTURES FROM ANATOLIAN FINE ARTS HIGH SCHOOLS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC EDUCATION OF GAZİ UNIVERSITY (M.Sc Thesis) Çiğdem ÖZ GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SEPTEMBER 1999 ABSTRACT This research was carried out in order to determine students, educational activites in piano lectures coming from Anatolian Fine Arts High Schools to The Department of Music Education of Gazi University as a narrative field research. This was also conducted so as to evaluate students success and contribute to their piano education. The questionnaire method had been applied to the students and various findings were obtained The results obtained from the findings as follows; The students coming from Anatolian Fine Arts High Schools to The Department Of Music Education Of Gazi University are different from each other in terms of their levels of piano playing technique. Therefore, it is a requisite to approach more planned, well- programmed and with a particular care to the piano education given in Anatolian Fine Arts High Schools. However, it was determined that a piano education which carries the qualifications of improving and being enough for the piano education given by Anatolian Fine Arts High Schools should be provided in the Department of Music Education of Gazi University.
