Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the music education given by Anatolian Fine Arts High Schools on the students? choice of profession. The population of the study is AFAHS graduates in Turkey. The sample was drawn from the students who were graduated from AFAHS between 2003 and 2006, and who are currently attending to Gazi University Gazi Education Faculty Music Education Department. The data was collected through a questionnaire. The frequency and percentage values were analyzed and shown in tables. In the result of the study, (1) the effect of the teachers working at AFAHS?s, (2) the effect of the music education given by Anatolian Fine Arts High Schools, (3) the effect of the environmental factors, and (4) the effect of the music education curriculum in the students? preparation to higher education programs in music on the students? choice of profession were determined. In accordance with the result of the study, some suggestions were made.
