Abstract (EN)
This study deals with the public and private portraits of Julio-Claudian Period, which were recovered in Anatolia, where the most important provinces of the Roman Empire in the east were located. Until now, the most extensive researches on this subject were performed by J. İnan and E. A. Rosenbaum, and in terms of material, their two important publications constitute the starting point of this study. After these publications, even though some of the official portraits of the mentioned period of Anatolia were served as the subjekt to monographic studies, it was almost never mentioned to the majority and the special portraits. The neglect of such an important material caused the problem of identification a lot of official portraits and dating with specific portraits and these problems remained unsolved. By handling of the material with the new information and documents in context of this study in accordance with these criterias will also help to answer many other questions about the art of the Early Imperial Period of Anatolia.
