Abstract (EN)
This study has been made in order to determine the awareness level of the parents of the students about the benefits of the course of Physical Education in the Anatolian High School within the boundaries of Kartal district in Istanbul Province. The samplings of this study consist of 479 parents who have students in 7 Anatolian High Schools in Istanbul, Kartal district in the academic year 2012-2013. In order to collect data, "Survey" method was used. In order to determine the awareness level on the benefits of the course of physical education in Anatolian High Schools, arithmetic results and standard deviations of the sub-factors at the scales was determined. As a result of this determination, awareness level of the parents was moderately above the average level.It was tested weather the results obtained by using the scales differ depending on the gender, age, marital status, degree of proximity as parent, education and job of the parents attended to the survey. As a result of the difference tests while some significant differences (p<.05) were determined statistically between the groups of some demographic variables; statistically significant difference was not detected in some of them.
