Özet (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine Anatolian High Schools? effectiveness based on instructors? and administrators? views. Participants were asked questions concerning effective school dimensions: principals, teachers, students, school environment and parent involvement; through a questionnaire developed by Balcı (1993).The population of the study is school administrators and teachers working in Anatolian High Schools in Ankara in 2006-2007 academic year. 300 administrators and teachers from the schools located in the three districts of Ankara; Yenimahalle, Keçiören and Çankaya were chosen randomly as sample. Possible disagreements between the teachers and the administrators were controlled by t-tests and one-way anova. In order to evaluate the differences, Tukey HSD multiple comparison test was used.The results of the study can be summarized as follows:1. According to the views of the participants, the most effective dimensions are administrators and school environment; and the least effective one is parent involvement.2. There is a significant difference between the views of the teachers and the administrators on the effectiveness level of the Anatolian High Schools in Ankara.3. Administrators are considered to be effective by the teachers.4. Teachers are regarded effective by their colleagues.5. The school environment of the Anatolian High Schools in Ankara is regarded effective.6. Although considered as effective according to the research results, ?students? dimension can be said to be relatively less effective than the others.7. According to the views of the administrators and the teachers, the least effective dimension is parent involvement.Based on these findings, implications of the study are presented.
