Analysis and interpretation in the unique ceramic surfaces of the bullish figure forms in the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations

In almost all civilizations of Anatolia, bull was an important figure with a reputable place. In the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, home to the traces of these civilizations, it is clearly shown the importance given to the bull. In this work, past civilizations are studied by taking the forms of bull figure in the Museum. In this work, firstly, historcal and architectural information about the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations is given. In the second section, usage of bull figure of ceramic art and meanings of bull figure are described. This section shows the importance of bull figure for the civilizatons of Anatolia, from the Paleolithic period. In the third section, usage of the bull figure is analyzed from the Paleolithic Period to the Kingdom of Urartu. For each of these periods, some information is given about social structure, sources of livelihood and architecture. This section shows the change of the meaning of the bull figure, during these periods. In the forth section, there are some bullish figure works of contemporary ceramic artists. Method of using bull figure of the artists are supported by some images. Finally, the applications are completed. In the fifth section, it is given detailed information about ceramic production methods and processes. Than, more information about production methods and firing values are given for each of the applications. Each work is supported by images and their production processes are mentioned.
