Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between speed-based verbal reasoning subtest (SAM) of the Anadolu Sak Intelligence Scale (ASIS) and perceptual speed measured by the subtests of Cognitive Assessment System 2 (planned codes, planned number matching, number detection, receptive attention) and Reynolds Intellectual Assessment Scale 2 (speed naming task and speed picture search). The secondary purpose was to investigate the reliability of the speed-based SAM subtest and ivt sitem-total correlations and relationship with the ASIS index scores. The sample of the study consisted of 211 students (age of 6-7). According to the findings, there was a weak relationship between speed-based SAM and perceptual speed tests. The reliability of the speed-based SAM subtest was high. Its relationship with the ASIS indexes were weak to medium. The correlations between the speed-based SAM, the memory capacity and the nonverbal index were medium and weak respectively. The results imply that there is a weak relationship between reasoning speed and perceptual speed.
