Investigation of depictions in stone works of Anatolian Seljuk Period in terms of traditional Turkish painting art

Traditional Turkish painting art has a deep-rooted history dating back to pre-Islamic times and continuing until today. Important examples of this type of painting, which has a unique form and style, are given during the Anatolian Seljuk period and the reign of the period lords. Stone is one of the materials that finds the most intense use among the works that are processed with different techniques on various materials. The figures on the stone surfaces, with their formal features and symbolic expressions, constitute an argument that dates back to pre-Islamic times and was synthesized with Islam. Human and animal figures, astrological and mythological depictions were processed in the depictions in civil and religious architectural structures, tombstones and in the stone works in many museums. It has been understood that the manuscripts produced in the same period overlap with each other in terms of style, form and composition features. In this respect, the examination of manuscripts prepared in Anatolian geography and the paintings on stone surfaces gains importance in terms of comparing the formal features of Traditional Turkish painting samples on different surfaces and reconstructing the current definition in a correct way.
