The examination of the relationship between unempoyment anxiety and entrepreneurship tendency of students studying in Anadolu University open education system

Technological developments in industry and service sectors, which are in continuous development today, increase unemployment. Increasing unemployment is accompanied by a decrease in income, a negative change in stress and anxiety levels. University students, who have sufficient knowledge and qualifications, are starting to have anxiety to find a job even while they are studying. The resulting job anxiety affects students' perspectives on entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is considered as one of the alternative job options that students prefer in case of not finding a job. The entrepreneurship tendency of the students who cannot find a job may increase. In this context, the study examines the effect of students' unemployment anxiety and the variables of the theory of planned behavior on entrepreneurship tendency is examined. For this purpose, research was carried out on active students studying in Anadolu University open education system in the 2019-2020 academic year spring semester. The results reveales that there is a statistically significant between the following pairs: behavioral beliefs and personal attitude, normative beliefs and subjective norms, control beliefs and perceived behavioral control, personal attitude and entrepreneurship tendency, subjective norms and entrepreneurship tendency, perceived behavioral control and entrepreneurship tendency, and sub-dimensions of unemployment anxiety and entrepreneurship tendency. Unemployment anxiety varies statistically across work experience, gender, income and marital status.
