The effectiveness of computer supported education in graphic training in education faculty department of fine arts in Anadolu University

ABSTRACTTHE EFFECTIVENESS OF COMPUTER SUPPORTED EDUCATION INGRAPHIC TRAINING IN EDUCATION FACULTYDEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS IN ANADOLU UNİVERSITYH.Turgay ÜNALANDepartment of Fine Arts EducationAnadolu University Graduate School of Educational Sciences, August 2005Advisor: Assoc. Prof. Fethi KABAIn this rearch, the effectiveness of being acknowledged and putting into practice of the areasof colour and typography one of the basic principles of the Graphic Design in computersupported Education was investigated. Two groups of learners were divided as control andexperiment groups. The total number of subjects was 29, namely 17 subjects in experimentand 12 in control group. Before the instruction of Computer Supported Graphic Training, anAchievement Test and the Knowledge of Color Achievement tests were given additionaly,applied studies an Color and Typhography were carried out. 336 hour training on ComputerSupported Graphic Education were given to experiment group. As for the control group, noapplication was carried out apart from traditational training. At the and of the ComputerSupported Graphic Training, subjects were retested through Achievement test and knowledgeof Colour Test and once again applied studies on colour and Typography were carried out.In order to determine if there is a signaficant diffeerence between the data gathered fromcontrol and experiment groups, the ?t? test was used and the .01 significance level wasconsidered. In analyzing the data the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) wasused.As a result of the study, there is a signaficant difference for the fovour of experiment group,participated in the Computer Supported Graphic Training and the control group exposed totraditional education, in terms off utilizing and applying skills that are the basic principles ofgraphic design. In considering the result oh the study, ıt was found out that the computersupported training was effective in the graphic designing courses in Anadolu UnivesityEducation Faculty, Fine Arts Department.
