Özet (EN)

The approach of the Middle Ages based on religion, namely the church, was effective in many areas. Science has also taken its share from this intense influence of religion. Some inventions and discoveries made in those years were not accepted by the church. In fact, the scientist who made that discovery was excluded and punished. Due to economic and cultural reasons, especially the intense influence of religion, philosophy naturally had to adopt idealism. With the Enlightenment that started in the eighteenth century, philosophy began to progress according to reason and science. For them, philosophy is no longer based on metaphysics. Philosophers of this period completely adopted reason and science. However, this situation did not last long, and in the twentieth century, a return to metaphysics began again under the name of Continental philosophy. Analytical philosophy emerged in the same century as a reaction to this philosophy. The aim of this philosophy is not to exclude philosophy from science, but to carry out both together. In this study, which is called "A Revıew of Analytical Philosophy", it is briefly emphasized the general characteristics of analytical philosophy, Continental philosophy, major representatives of analytical philosophy (Frege, Russell, Moore, Wittgenstein, Carnap) and criticisms of analytical philosophy. KEYWORDS:Analytical Philosophy, Philosophy of Language, Logical Positivism
