The creation of support decision system with analytical hierarchy proces(AHP): Application in a production company

In the 21st century, food sector becomes one of the sectors under the influence of globalization and rapidly developing technologies. In this mentioned sector, decision making, which is important for all functions from production to management, covers an important process that a number of factors to be effective and evaluating several alternatives to select the most appropriate of them. This situation also relates how active and effective use of information technologies which is an important power factor to determine the location of a company in the competitive market. In this study, a flour factory among the production companies operating in Kirsehir is discussed. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) model with a choice of methods have been developed in order to determine the most appropriate one among the many different types of wheat which will enter into production in business. As a first step, the criteria that influence the choice of wheat has been determined and a decision hierarchy has been created based on these criteria. Determination of criteria priority has been consulted by the people who served as an expert in the factory and relative criteria weights has been determined using Expert Choice program. According to the model created with the help of AHP, a decision support system has been developed in order to help decision-makers and to enable them to save time. This system prepared using Delphi program version 10 Seattle has been tested with 100 units sample taken from the factory and 83% correlation between expert judgment and decision systems have been identified. It is observed that the decision support system, which is proposed for the selection of wheat which will go into production at the factory, can assist decision-makers to decide faster, high quality and accurate by developing in terms of other functions of the factory.
