Analyzing the effects of group psychological counseling program accordi̇ng to results of projective assessment tests applied to 8-10 years old children

Projective tests are evaluation methods that have a multi-faceted perspective to identify and understand the individual's inner world, feelings and thoughts. Group psychological counseling is effective for the identified problem areas via projective tests. The present research was carried out as two steps so there were two main purposes. First purpose of the research is to determine the problem Beier Sentence Completion Test, The second purpose of the research is to examine the effectiveness of the group psychological counseling program in the identified problem area. Beier Sentence Completion Test was applied to 76 children. Total negative score of fear subtest was determineted to be high in this research. 36 children with high levels of fear are divided into three groups as experimental, control I and control II in order to reduce the level of fear and increase the overall well-being of these groups. Cognitive behavioral weighted approach group psychological counseling program was applied to experimental group. The activities that are not related to fear were applied for control I group. No application was made for control II group. Beier Sentence Completion Test was applied for post-test measurement after group psychological weighted approach group psychological counseling program is effective in reducing children's fear levels and increasing their general well-being. These results were discussed under the light of relevant literature.
