Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to determine the preschool students' usage profile of information and communication technology (ICT). Therefore descriptive survey model was used in the study. The sample of the study consisted of preschool students, which are located around of the Kırşehir Centrum. An assessment instrument developed by the researcher was used to collect data. The assessment instrument has divided into two parts. The first part was consisted of 7 questions with regards to children and their parents' demographics. Another part was consisted of 80 questions were aimed to explore children's ICT interaction. SPSS was used to analyze data. Tests of significance are called Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis H was used because of no homogenous data. The result of this study reveals that children live in a technologically rich environment. On a typical day, the mean number of minutes children watched TV was 115 and used computer was 28 minutes. In parallel with, children have many skills concerning using computer. According to sex, male use computer more than girl. Furthermore, male have more computer skills than girl. When factors which affect children's ICT usage and interaction are researched, effect of the parents' educational situation is seen. Correspondingly, when the parents' educational situations increase, children's computer usage skills increase. Likewise, children's ICT usage skills increase associated with parents' economic situation.
