Abstract (EN)

Most of the skills related to motor, language, social and emotional development in early childhood are directly related to cognitive development. In the present study, the relationship of the scores of preschool children, one of the critical periods of development, from the Anatolian-Sak Intelligence Scale (ASIS) and Gazi Early Childhood Assessment Instrument (GECAT), Ankara Development Screening Inventory (AGTE), and Metropolitan School Readiness Test were examined. In the research, relational screening model was used. The study group consisted of 104 kindergarten students. According to the findings of the research, there was a significant correlation between ASIS index scores and GECAT subtest scores, and between AGTE subtest and total scores. Significant correlations were found between ASIS index scores and Metropolitan School Readiness Test subtest and total scores. As a result, the relationship between ASIS and developmental screening test and school maturity test scores was examined and additional evidence for ASIS criterion validity was presented. Keywords: Cognitive development, Developmental test, Academic achievement, Preschool period.
