Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out in order to reveal the perceptions of preschool and first grade pupils towards primary school. The sample of that study consist of 45 pupils at age of six, who attends the preschool, and 45 pupils who attends the first grade of primary school at the same quarter of Adana province, Çukurova district. This research was carried out by phenomenology research design. The data was obtained with mosaic technique. According to this, firstly one-to-one interviews were held with each child then in order to obtain more broad data, children were asked to draw a picture and explain it. The collected interview data, were analyzed by content analysis method, data obtained from pictures were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that interview findings are parallel with picture findings, as the result it also were obtained, that preschool pupil and first grade students have likewise views about what they want and doesnt want according to outdoor and indoor school environment, daily flows and programs, classroom mangement and peer relations.
