Abstract (EN)

Almost everywhere in the world, embedded systems used in fare collection systems, smart bus stations, vehicle tracking applications in the area of public transportation. However, not all of these systems have a common hardware and software standard. Particularly in the thesis, the embedded systems which used in public transport sector and in vehicles are produced independently from each other in line with needs. For this reason, it is almost impossible for third party software to work on these platforms. System maintenance and porting costs are extremely high. Growing technology affects all areas of life. These developments have caused some changes like every other area in the urban life and in the public transport sector which is the biggest part of this life. Especially with the concept of "smart city", it is expected that all means of transport, bus stops and tickets will have a more "smart" structure. However, it is very difficult and costly for embedded system manufacturers, which are not operating in consumer electronics, to adapt quickly to the developments experienced in the mobile world. The lack of a common standard leads to reconsideration of the software projects in every new design and a high cost of producing hardware-specific software. This is one of the most common problems that even a simple update process is a problem. In this study, a solution was searched for the search for a common platform, easy development, maintenance and compliance problems in embedded systems suitable for the industrial working conditions and requirements used in in-car applications.
