Research on angiogenesis in pregnant rat ovary medulla and the fetal dermis

Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is to find out the development and changes occuring in the ovary of rat during pregnancy and in the veins of the fetal rat skin until birth. In this research twenty-five female and four male Wistar albino rats were used. The control group was formed with five non-pregnant female rats. Providing the necessary conditions, twenty rats became pregnant. Four groups were formed according to their 14th, 17th, 20th days of pregnancy and on the day of birth. The two ovaries of all mothers were extracted on the predetermined days. Examples of skin from the fetal and newborns were taken to be researched on the pre-determined date. After this phase, the research continued as two different researches. The ovaries taken from the mother rats from four groups and the skin example taken from the fetal and postnatal period on the first day of birth form other four groups. The paraffin sections of the tissue were studied under light microscopy with the help of hematoksilen eosin, masson trikrom, actin (SMA) and CD34 paints. The findings of the research shows that the vascularization in the medulla of the ovary is dense in different areas, on the 14th and 17th days of the pregnancy and that the vascularization decreases on the 20th days of pregnancy and on the day of birth. It is observed on the first day of the postnatal period of the rat ovary the vascularization in the atretic follicles decreased compared with other groups. Moreover, when the pregnancy was proceeding the number of the vessels increased at the square per unit in the dermis whereas the number of vessels decreased in the group of the postnatal period, on the 1st day.
