ABSTRACT The Effect of Planned Patient Education Before Angiography on State, Continuity, and Death Anxiety Şevket CENGİZHAN, Hasan Kalyoncu University, Institude of Health Science, Nursing Department, Master wint Thesis, Gaziantep 2018 This research was carried out in Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital between 05.10.2017-10.05.2018 to determine the effect of planned patient education before coronary angiography on condition, continuity and death anxiety. The study was conducted on a total of 100 patients in 50 study groups and 50 control groups that met inclusion criteria. The data were collected using the "Personality Questionnaire", "Death Anxiety Scale" and "Spielberger State - Trait Anxiety Scale". The obtained data were evaluated by the researcher using the package program SPSS 24.0 (The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - PC Version 21.0). When the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants are examined; 97% were in the age range of 31-61 years, 68% of men, 86% were married and the majority were high school graduates. 55% of the participants live in the city center, the majority of them live with their spouses and children, free-running and less than the expense of income. When the socio-demographic characteristics of the individuals participating in the study are examined; there was no statistically significant difference between groups in terms of age, gender, marital status, educational status, place of residence, experienced persons, occupation and occupation status, income status. Our groups have similar characteristics, homogeneous distribution. When the participants' continuity anxiety inventory was examined, pre-training trait anxiety levels in the experimental group were significantly lower than control group, When the findings related to the State Anxiety Inventory were examined, pre-training state anxiety levels in the experimental group, were significantly lower than the control group. The deaths of patients to undergo coronary angiography, state and continuity anxiety levels should be solved with training.
