Abstract (EN)

This thesis comprises the geographical situation, a brief history and the linguistic characteristics of Beypazari district of Ankara. In the `Glossary? section at the end of the thesis, the words used in Beypazari dialect and their meanings are given. Data was collected from three municipality and 12 villages in order to be used as a source in our study. Conversations with 46 people were recorded in 15 cassettes, and the conversations reflecting the regional dialect were selected and written down. Our study consists of the ?Introduction?, ?Phonetics?, ?Morphology?, ?Conclusion?, ?Texts? and ?Dictionary? sections. In the `Introduction? section of our study is the general information about Beypazari. The geographical situation, climate, economy of Beypazari, the origin of the name Beypazari, and the historic information about the district are presented in this section. In the `Phonetics? section, the consonants and vowels we determined in the texts collected from Beypazari as different from the standard written language are included. The in-detail investigation of these consonants and vowels and the phonetics relating to them are also given in this section. In the `Morphology? section, the nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs and prepositions in Beypazari dialect are dealt with in detail. The examination sections of our study consist of the phonetics and morphology. 2 In the `Conclusion? section, the determined characteristics of Beypazari dialect are listed item by item. The names of the sources we used in our study are given in `Bibliography? section. In the `Texts? section, the texts we have collected from Beypazari district and have written down, using them in our study as the source, are given. In the `Glossary? section, the words which are not used in written language and we have considered as difficult-to-understand and their meanings are given.
