Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT In this study; it is studied to determine the reasons to be an arbiter with their thoughts and approach of socioeconomic structure The research group is composed from basketball arbiters in Ankara. The research has been built on the base of classifications which are `A? (10 people), `B? (10 people), `C?, (12 people), `Federation? (13 people), and `region and city? (113 people) arbiters. Firstly the present data which is useful for the aim of research is given in a systematic way by scanning the literature. So the theoretical framework about the subject is formed. Then the questionnaire is applied the sampling groups in order to receive the goal of research. The questionnaire, which is a mean of gathering information, consists of a part. The meaning level between the other variables according to Basketball arbiter?s classification is determined. And, the questionnaire includes 36 questions. The MINITAB statistics programming is used for analyzing the data which is using in research. The frequency had found in data analysis. According to the arbiter?s classifications; it has been looked up to meaningful relationship between other variables for whether is related or not by investigating with qi-suquare (x²) test (p=0.05, meaningfulness level is used for the test). According to result of the research, majority of basketball arbiters live in the great cities and their education levels is academy. Generally, they are single, their mothers are housewife and their fathers are official. There is the direct proportion between increase of classification and ages of arbiters. Majority of arbiters who had increased their classifications are married and if their education level is academy, they are successful. While arbiters who are high classification degree generally are official and self employment persons, arbiters who are low classifications generally are students or worker. According to economic statute, most be ease of them are the classification arbiters. And this proportion is being decrease while the classification is became small. Generally, arbiter?s families smile on the arbitration. VI Times when the families don?t like the arbitration generally are in eventful and problem games. The tendency which is to be an arbiter is started like hobby when they are young, and it is observed that the arbiter?s, who chose arbitration as job, classifications rises. While we observe the arbiter?s socioeconomic structures, the high classification arbiters are harmonious with their environments and have got the valuable capacity in the point of sociality, also according to economic statute, most be ease of them are the these arbiters.
