Revision Sitüation of work accident and occupational diseases of employees working in Ankara Railway Factory associated some working conditions

There a lot of factors that threat occupational safety and healty of workers. Occupational diseases and accident at work are in the first order among these factors. The aim of this study is to determine working conditions of railway employee working in Ankara Railway factory with accidents at work and revision cases of Occupational diseases and associated with these factorsthat was performed between December of 2009 and 2010 is a sectional study. Questionnaire containing 45 question were applied by using face to face interviews in investigation. This Questionnaire was carried out over %79,6 of 175 railway employee. Significance value of statistically was adopted of p<0.05. Descriptive statistics, chi-square and certain test fischer were used as statistically methods. Datas, the average standard deviation and distribution of frequency were presented as percent value.All of Railway employee are male, married and member of union workers. The averages age of employee are 46.74 ± 4.5. This Questionnaire indicated that one person from under 45 years of age were underwent work accident, 72 persons were not underwent work accident and two person from under 45 years and upper 45 years of age were underwent work accident, 100 persons were not underwent work accident. And also1.7 % (3 Persons) of all of employee were underwent work accident in the last year.All of employee(3 persons) expressed not receiving the diagnosis of occupational diseases. When factors causing ocupational diseases were questioned to employee in the workplace, as a first factor 62.3 % of employee expressed noise, 11.4 % low temperature and as second factor, 62.3 % of employee expressed noise, 38.3% of low temperature, 12.6 % deficiency of air conditioning-illumination and dust and as third factor, 23.4 % of employee expressed chemical matter, 22.9 % heavy lifting, 18.9 % deficiency of air conditioning and illumination. All of employee underwent occupational accident in the last year expressed not giving personal protective and not using personal protective and 2 persons of employee underwent occupational accident expressed not be suitable of personal protective and careless work and 1 persons of employee underwent occupational accident expressed using unsafe equipment and defective gatgery and tool as the most important cause of occupational diseases.These regulations will be beneficial in terms of working enviroment and working conditions and also occupational safety and healty of workers.Key words: Railway Maintenance and Repair, Accident at Work, Occupational Safety Healty of worker, Occupational Diseases
