Özet (EN)
This research has been carried out to establish the relation between the exhaustion levels of the teachers working at nursery classes and independent nursery schools at Ankara city centre and their assessment on unwanted behaviours in children. The universe of the research is composed of preschool education teachers working at nursery classes and independent nursery schools at Çankaya, Etimesgut, and Yenimahalle, which are the central districts of Ankara, attached to the Ministry of National Education in 2010-2011 education term. Stratified random sampling technique is used to choose the best sample suitable to the research subject and problems. 87 nursery class and 14 nursery school, total 101 preschool education teachers working at Çankaya, 38 nursery class and 26 nursery school, total 63 preschool education teachers working at Etimesgut, 65 nursery class and 19 nursery school, total 102 preschool education teachers working at Yenimahalle formed the universe of the research. 266 preschool education teachers participated in the research. As data collection tool for the research; ?Maslach Burnout Inventory? developed by Maslach and Jackson, and ? Behaviour Assesment Scale For Children? developed by Şehirli (2007), and ?Personal Information Form?, developed by the researcher have been used.At the end of the research, it?s been found that the teachers who have 16-20 years of experience have a higher level of emotional exhaustion than the teachers with less experience. Also the level of emotional exhaustion is higher at the teachers in the age group of 36 or over than the teachers in the age group of 25 years and below. It is found that emotional exhaustion levels of the teachers who are not expecting any progress in their career and who think they do not have a chance of making progress are higher than the teachers who say they want to make progress in their career. In terms of personal success, it is established that exhaustion levels of the married teachers in terms of personal success is higher than the single teachers. Exhaustion levels of the teachers, in terms of personal success, who received in-service training 3-5 times are considerably higher than the personal success exhaustion level of the teachers who received 6 or more in-service training. Exhaustion levels in terms of personal success of the teachers with one child is higher compared to the exhaustion levels in terms of personal success of teachers without children or with 2 or more children. At the dimensions of desensitization and personal success, in terms of variables of professional seniority, age and the reason of choosing profession; and also at the dimensions of emotional exhaustion and desensitization, in terms of the variables of marital status, frequency of taking in-service training, and the number of children which they have, a meaningful difference has not been detected. While no reasonable relation has been established statistically between the subtests on the exhaustion levels of the teachers and their scores of behaviour assessment for children, on the other hand an important relation between emotional exhaustion, desensitization and personal success has been detected.Key Words: Unwanted behaviour, preschool education, teacher, exhaustion
