Abstract (EN)
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the physicians knowledge and attitudes about Rational Drug Use (RDU) who have been working in primary health care institutions. In accordance with the outcomes of the data obtained from the research, it is been aimed to contribute to making suggestions for the future studies and interventions to be conducted about RDU.In scope of this descriptive investigation during May 2007 questionaires by a total of 45 questions with the options below questioning age, gender, professional history and the knowledge and attitudes of the physicians were distributed to the 132 practitioner and specialist physicians who have been actively working in primary health care institutions affiliated to Ankara Keçiören Health Group Directorate. The 107 physicians (80,06%) who filled out the questinnaires were included in the study.The data obtained from the questionnaire were evaluated by using SPSS 13.0 software. As well as using descriptive statistical methods in the study inferential statistical method ki-square have been used while comparing physicians who received and did not receive Rational Drug Use Training (RDUT).The questionnaire was filled out by physicians whose mean average age was 37,86± 6,34 and who were 41,1% male (n=44), 58,9% female (n=63). The data belonging to physicians who received and did not receive RDUT the frequency ragarding having sufficient level of information, taking into consideration all of the four criteria necessary while selecting drugs and using at least five sources while selecting drugs were (52,4%, %53,2%), (57,1%, 54,9%), (5,0%, 2,7%) respectively. No statisticallly significant differance could be found among the two groups in terms of three parameters that had been questioned. (p>0,05).Although 88,4% of the physicians did not receive RDUT before 53,2% of the physicians having sufficient RDU knowledge was pleasing for the medical school training in our country. Having no differance between level of knowledge and field of implementation among the physicians who received and did not receive RDUT was probably because of not having sufficient number of physicians having been trained.Key words: Drug, rational drug use, receipt.
