Abstract (EN)

In the cultivation of peppermint (Mentha piperita) and parsley (Petroselinum crispum), economic yield losses occur due to soil-borne diseases and pests. Plant-parasitic nematodes is one of the most important pests among them. In this study, the Plant Parasitic Nematode (PPN) fauna was investigated in the peppermint and parsley production areas in Kahramankazan district of Ankara province, where peppermint and parsley cultivation is widespread in Turkey. Surveys were conducted in Saray, Kumpınar, Yazıbeyli, Aydın, and Güvenç villages of Kahramankazan district, where peppermint and parsley cultivation is intensively produced, and samples were collected from 50 different locations. PPNs were obtained from the samples using the modified Baermann Funnel method, and permanent preparats were prepared for nematode identification. Results of this study revealed that Aphelenchus avenae, Basiria berylla, Bitylenchus dubius, Bitylenchus parvus, Ditylenchus dipsaci, Ditylenchus myceliophagus, Ditylenchus parvus, Filenchus aquilonius, Filenchus cylindricus, Filenchus filiformis, Filenchus thornei, Helicotylenchus canadensis, Helicotylenchus digonicus, Helicotylenchus dihystera, Helicotylenchus exallus, Helicotylenchus pseudodigonicus, Helicotylenchus variabilis, Pratylenchoides alkani, Pratylenchus thornei, Quinisulcius capitatus, Zygotylenchus guevarai were identified.
