Abstract (EN)

According to International Energy Agency reports, more than 33 billion bulbs consume around 2650 Twh of energy and the electricity demanded for lighting corresponds to 19% of the total electricity. New lighting technologies with high efficiency have the potential to significantly reduce the electricity consumption of lighting in the house. For this reason, goverment policies and awarness-rising campaigns have focused on LED (Light- Emitting Diode) technology, which has the highest energy saving potential. There is no net diffusion and consumption data for the characterization of lighting in many countries, including Turkey. In this thesis study, in order to better understand the end-user behaviors in domestic lighting, questionnaries were applied in 138 houses in Ankara province. Within the scope of the research, LED lighting adaptation level in our country, consciousness level of energy saving in illumination has been determined and lighting inventory has been compiled for estimation of lighting consumption electricity consumption. According to the results of the survey, annual electricity consumption of houses is calculated as 203.6 kWh. Consumption in homes surveyed is asymmetric, right skewness, lognormal distribution. In order to reflect the general picture of Ankara province, Monte Carlo method was used to produce 10,000 estimates of synthetic data from the distribution characteristics of the existing data, and a low average estimate of standard error and consumption distribution based on lighting for the Ankara genre were established. With this method, average lighting-induced electricity consumption for Ankara province is 159,8 kWh. The Monte Carlo result average was lower than the result of the survey. This is due to the fact that data representing residences with low lighting consumption that fit the lognormal distribution and reflect the sample are gathered together at high speed. At the same time, the high standard deviation of the distribution indicates the presence of houses with electricity consumption for high lighting, albeit a little over the whole of Ankara. It is necessary to investigate why these houses are high as a target group in future research. Monte Carlo estimates for the Ankara province are lower than the European countries and US consumption estimates in the literature
