Abstract (EN)

DETERMINATION OF SOIL STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF THE SETTLEMENT AREAS IN WEST OF ANKARA BY GEOPHYSICAL METHODS SUMMARY Keywords: Surface Wave Analysis, Shear Wave Velocity, Site Period, Seismic Site Characterization, Ankara The main purpose of this study is to determine the type of Plio-Quaternary sediments in the Ankara basin. In order to determine the type of soil, shear wave velocities, ground swing periods, soil amplification ratios were analyzed and the results were compared. Surface wave analysis method and microtremor method were used in the study. According to the results of the surface wave method results range from Vs30 310-695 m / sec ranges. The dominant vibration period in empirical methods was in the range of 0.22 to 0.51 sec, and the amplification ratio was in the range of 1.34-2.36. The soil type varies between Class C Z3 and Class D group Z4. The results obtained from the microtremor measurements were calculated using the Nakamura method. The soil amplification rates range from about 1.7- 6.7 and the dominant vibration periods range from about 0.2 to 0.8 seconds. The results of the Nakamura method were consistent with the results of the prevailing vibration period when the results of the empirical method were compared, the results of the ground amplification were observed to be incompatible. It is expected that these study results will be an important source for the site characterization and seismic hazard analysis studies.
