Ankara yalaklarındaki zooplankton (crustacea) taksonomisi, dağılımı, ve ekolojisi

Troughs are one of the main components of villages in Turkey. They are constructed by converting from springs. Until now, there is no extensive study investigating trough species composition and diversity. In order to contribute the knowledge on the zooplanktons in troughs, 142 troughs were randomly visited from 17 counties of Ankara between 22 June and 03 July 2011. Total of 11 Copepoda, (only Cyclopoida and Harapacticoida) and seven Cladocera species were determined. Out of 18 zooplankton species, 12 of them (Paracyclops chiltoni, Paracylopsfimbiratus, Paracyclops imminutus, Tropocyclops prasinus, Diacyclops bisetosus, Acanthocyclops vernalis, Canthocamptus staphylinus, Attheyella crassa, Bryocamptus minutes, Macrothrix hirsuticornis, Ouxyurella tenucaudis, Moina macrocopa) are new records for Ankara. P. imminutus was reported for the third time in Turkey after about 50 years. Unweighted Pair Group Mean Averages (UPGMA) illustrated four main clustering groups of zooplankton based on ecological characteristics. Poisson Distribution Analyses showed almost random distribution of species among the troughs (s2 / µ = 1.04). With their cosmopolitan characteristics, three species (M. hirsuticornis, E. serrulatus, and C. sphaericus) are the most common species, and occurred from 63, 29, and 24 times, respectively. Comparing the other species, ecological tolerance and optimum values of these species were relatively higher than the mean tolerances for different environmental variables. Results support that troughs may provide suitable conditions for zooplankton species
