Sentence structure of Anku Boeva's "Güllerim Solmasın"

The most important element for a nation is its language. Societies exist through the language they speak and communicate with each other through language. Over time, the spoken language develops, changes, transforms, influences other languages or is influenced by other languages. While the spoken language provides information about the beliefs, sociocultural structures, lifestyles, customs and ideologies of societies, it also reveals the structure and rules of the spoken language. As the languages of societies reflect their cultures, each language also has its own structural features. In this context, Gagauz Turkish has a unique sentence structure different from other Turkish languages. In general, the order of subject, object and predicate is followed, but there is flexibility in the placement of the elements in the sentence. Although the sentence structure of Gagauz Turkish has undergone various differences as a result of historical and geographical interactions, it has largely preserved the basic Turkish sentence structure. In Gagauz Turkish, it is seen that the number of transposed sentences is high. In this study, all sentences in Anku Boeva's story book Güllerim Solmasın were analyzed according to their structures and each sentence was transferred to Turkey Turkish. The sentences were analyzed in three groups according to their structures: simple sentences, compound sentences and fragmented sentences. Simple sentences are classified according to the type of predicate, the place of the predicate and their meaning. Compound sentences are classified into six groups: conditional compound, nested compound, compound with ani (ki/aniki), sequential sentence, dependent sentence and mixed compound sentence. Except for mixed compound sentences, all sentences are divided into their elements. At the end of the study, a dictionary of unknown words in the work was created. With this study, it is aimed to contribute to the studies in the field of sentence structure in Gagauz Turkish.
