The effect of the software based on meanningful learning approach and assisted computer prepared for science course on the seventh grade students' academic achievement and retention

The study covers the effect of the software based on meaningful learning approach andassisted computer prepared for Science Course on the seventh grade students? academicachivement and retention.The study was conducted with seventh grade Cebesoy primary school students. Thesubject of this study was conducted upon one hundred five students chosen with randomlymethod. Thirty five students of this sample conducted experimental group one, thirty fivestudents of this subject conducted experimental group two and thirty five students of thissample conducted control group. While traditional method was applied for the control group,classical method based on meaningful learning was applied for the experimental group one.Besides this, computer assisted based on meaningful learning applications was realized for theexperimental group two.It has been found that there was a significant difference in terms of academic successbetween control groups and experimental groups.In terms of student?s permanence, thesignificant difference between control group and experimental group one was favour ofexperimental group one, the significant difference between experimental group one andexperimental group two was favour of experimental group two.Keywords : Meaningful Learning, Scince and Techonogy Literacy, ComputerLiteracy, Science Education, Education Technology
