Abstract (EN)
In this academical work, main purpose is to design and develop a food traceability ontology by using advantages of Semantic Web technologies. Even if it is possible to develop traceability via algorithms or relational databases, Semantic Web technologies provide native and flexible environment for simple and interoperable traceability. Thus, designed ontology is developed based on input - process - output process model. By entering ingredients of foods during process to the designed ontology model using triplestores, it will be possible to trace from final processed foods to raw ingredients back and from ingredients to final food products forward. In this work, classes, properties and basic axioms of the onlogy have been designed to meet minimum traceability requirements. Developed ontology has been tested with test data and successfully responded traceabilty realted SRARQL queries.
