Abstract (EN)

Investigation Of The Relationship Between The Children's Perspective On Parenting Attitude and Children's Adjustment Process Of Divorce Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the children's perspective on parenting attitude and the adaptation process of divorce. Materials and Methods: The study has been conducted with 70 children (10 to 12 years old) whose parents are in the process of divorce. In this study, Demographic Information Form, The Child's Divorce Adjustment Inventory and Parenting Style Scale have been used as data collection instruments. The data has been analyzed with "Student t", "Mann Whitney u", "LSD", "Kruskal Wallis" and "All Pairwise" tests. Findings: According to the parenting attitude, statistically significant difference wasn't found between the child's divorce adjustment inventory scores. According to the child's age, gender, number of siblings, father's education, mother's education, statistically significant difference wasn't found between perspective of parental attitude. It is determided significant difference according to the child's variable living with mother or father between the child's divorce adjustment. Result: Child's perceptions of parenting style aren't important to child's adjustment to divorce. Child's Demographical characteristics like age, gender can play an important role according to their perceptions of parental attitude. It is determined to frequency of meeting with mother is important for child's adjustment to divorce. Keywords: Child, children's adjustment to divorce, divorce, parenting attitude.
