Abstract (EN)
The Relationship Between Mothers' Postpartum Comfort and Support Levels Aim: It was planned to determine the relationship between mothers' comfort and support levels in the postpartum period. Materials and Methods: The population of the study, which was planned as a relational descriptive study, consisted of 346 mothers who applied to 11 Family Health Centers in Gaziantep between October 2018 and May 2019 and accepted to participate in the study within the first 8 weeks after birth. Questionnaire forms 'Descriptive Characteristics', 'Postpartum Support Scale' and Son Postpartum Comfort Scale 'were applied to the mothers who participated in the study. Arithmetic mean, percentage distribution, t test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis, Many Whitney U, Tukey HSD and correlation analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: The mean score of the Postpartum Support Scale, Importance of Needs of the Mothers subscale was 185.27 ± 32.24 and the total score of the Support subscale received was 140.68 ± 41.23. The mean total score of the Postpartum Comfort Scale was 121.78 ± 12.46. There was a negative weak correlation (r = -. 108, p <.05) between the comfort levels of the mothers and the importance level of postpartum support need, and a positive weak correlation (r = .180, p <.05) between the received support level. Conclusion: Mothers' comfort was found to be moderate. Supporting by his / her close family, family and health care professionals will increase the comfort of mothers' postpartum period.
